Tower 200
The new Tower 200 total gym training system brings convenience to a whole new level by giving you the ability to install a full virtual weight set anywhere you want, as long as there’s a door. Do you have a door in your house?
That was a rhetorical question… The fact of the matter is that the Tower 200 is an extremely quality piece of equipment, and is one of the most innovative resistance band setups that I’ve ever seen. Resistance bands are well known for their ability to increase endurance, strength, and over all physical appearance. And hey, that’s what we’re after right?
So how does the Tower 200 system work?
Basically, there is a preconstructed steel frame with the resistance bands already attached and rigged, all you have to do is attach the top and bottom parts of the frame to whatever door you feel like working out from. From there you can use the resistance bands however you want. The Tower 200 comes with both hand and ankle straps so that your options for exercises are really quite vast. In fact, Body by Jake claims 200 exercises straight out-of-the-box with no additional equipment needed.
Now, as you look through the exercises you’ll see that sometimes switching sides, or something trivial like that, is counted as a separate exercise. So take that 200 number with a grain of salt, but the point remains. There is a lot of stuff you can do with the Tower 200. It is a powerful piece of training equipment.
So who exactly is the Tower 200 for?
Well, here’s my recommendation (and as always take this with a grain of salt, I’m only human): I would say that if you consider yourself to be anywhere between a total newbie to an intermediate lifter, then I would definitely consider the Tower 200 as your next piece of training equipment.
It’s versatile, it’s portable, and resistance bands offer a new way to train your muscles that most gym rats don’t experience with simple dumbbells. The difference? The power cords that come equipped with the Tower 200 will actually give you more resistance to further their extension – this means that there is a dynamic range of force rather than a static one. It’s this subtle difference in physics that makes all the difference in your physique.
The equipment comes shipped with everything you need to get started – you get all the necessary straps, bands and grips, as well as a full training DVD with the famous UFC legend Randy Couture taking you through a couple of different highly intensive MMA workouts. Each of these is designed to work your whole body and burn fat to the max; if you’re familiar with MMA, then you know that Randy Couture is certainly very accomplished at what he does. I would trust his word, and his seal of approval on this machine actually DOES mean something.
The Tower 200 comes in at a little bit under $200, so I think that it’s an extremely good deal considering what you’re getting. Most similarly versatile training systems are either similarly priced for shoddier material, or just way more expensive. The Tower 200 is a happy balance between versatility and power, and you shouldn’t have any trouble reaching your next fitness goals with this training system/program.
