KettleWorx
If you’ve spent any of your wee hours watching TV, then there’s a good chance that you’ve seen the super catchy infomercial for the KettleWorx exercise program, claiming that you can achieve extremely powerful results from 3, 20 minute exercises per week.
How?
Through burning up to 1,000 calories per hour with Kettle bell exercises outlined in the KettleWorx program.
Now, if you know anything at all about the human body, then you know that 1K calories per hour ain’t chump change. In fact, that’s downright off the charts! I was skeptical, but the first time I picked up a kettle bell I immediately saw what was going on…These things are TOUGH to lug around.
And once you start swinging them back and forth, over your head, out in front of you, and then doing conventional weighted exercises to top it all off? It feels like I’m burning TWO thousand calories an hour!
Is KettleWorx recommended for everyone?
So, yes – Kettle bells are an extremely intense training tool, and I fully believe that everyone should incorporate them into their training in some way. However, I actually can’t say that I recommend the KettleWorx program for everyone, and there are a couple reasons why -
The whole program is based around the idea of 3 exercises per week, each only 20 minutes in length. Now, that’s only an hour per week of training, and no matter how you spin it that’s just not going to give you the same results of a similar infomercial program; Don’t come into KettleWorx expecting to see results on par with P90X for example, because it just won’t happen.
The course itself contains 6 DVDs and comes with a Kettle bell, which is actually a pretty dang good deal once you consider that a single kettle bell will run you around $30 – $50 depending on where you live and where you shop. However, you’ll probably need to pick up an extra kettle bell, because due to the nature of the program you really NEED more than one weight.
For example, if you’re doing a kettle bell snatch, then most guys will be able to work with a 20 – 30 lb kettle bell after a bit of training. However, try taking that 20 lb kettle bell and using it to through straight ‘weighted’ jabs…It’s not happening, or at least not very well.
In the end, I really feel that if you’re a beginner, or if you’re looking to ADD something to your current training regimen, or even if you’re looking to experiment with kettle bells for the first time, then I would recommend you pick up the KettleWorx exercise program. It’s very well laid out, and it describes in detail how to use these complex weights to shed pounds of fat off your body. The only 2 problems are that the program needs to be intensified for some of us gym rats, and an extra investment in a kettle bell will eventually need to be made.
Other than those 2 slight flaws, the program is powerful, and for the price you’ll find that you lose quite a bit more weight than you would get from going to a gym with the same amount of money – And that’s what it’s all about, right?
