Billy Blanks PT 24-7
I have to admit, my first impression of Billy Blanks PT 24-7 workout program was “oh here we go, another P90 X copy cat”, but what I found was actually quite surprising. Some of you probably already recognize Billy Blanks from his extremely popular tae bo workouts that were pretty popular a few years ago, before P90 X or insanity or any of those types of workouts ever came around.
After learning that, it seems much more natural to me that Billy blanks would now be releasing an “updated” course to compete with these new products. After all, we do live in a capitalist society… Supply and demand and whatnot.
Anyways, the fact of the matter is that the Billy Blanks PT 24-7 workout program is actually quite powerful. In fact, I would say that’s it makes more sense for most people than Insanity or P90 X. And here is why:
Billy Blanks PT 24-7 exercise regimen is based entirely around the concept of using resistance bands throughout your workout to achieve a total body constant resistance effect.
In other words, you’ll be doing intense cardio workouts wearing a device that Billy has cooked up, designed to allow you to easily and seamlessly integrate resistance bands. Basically, the bands are attached to a set of gloves and ankle straps that allow you to move without having to actually hold the bands.
Now, I may have made this sound a little bit complicated, but let me assure you it is as simple as can be.
Not only that, the inclusion of resistance bands takes these workouts to a whole new level. Because you’re wearing these bands your workouts can be shorter, and you will actually burn just as many if not more calories doing them than similar programs. To top it all off Billy Blanks is selling this program for a fraction of the price that Tony Horton and Sean T ask. Update: Billy Blanks recently increased the price to $100 from $60, but you still get free shipping and handling.
Included in the Billy Blanks PT 24-7 set you will find:
The Billy Blanks gloves and resistance bands, 7 x 30 min. workout DVDs (including an advanced ‘Body Blast’ DVD), a calendar down to keep track of your workouts, and a custom nutrition guide made for the program.
The great thing about wearing the resistance bands is that the work outs really can be quite a bit shorter than comparable programs; you can achieve the same muscle building and fat burning effect of P90 X in only 30 min., instead of up to an hour and 20 min.… I know astonishing, right?
The thing that perhaps I like the most about the Billy Blanks PT 24-7 program is that it is extremely safe when compared to both Insanity and P90 X. I don’t know if you know this or not, but plyometrics is an advanced technique, and a good way to injure yourself if your body isn’t already properly conditioned. Insanity is built around primarily plyometric exercises… Yeah sure, they burn a lot of calories, but they also blast your joints while they’re doing it.
The Billy Blanks PT 24-7 gets it’s intensive fat burning capabilities from resistance bands, which are much safer than plyometric exercise. Furthermore, you don’t have to waste time doing yoga or Kenpo like in P90X– you can actually spend time doing exercises that matter.
All in all the Billy Blanks PT 24-7 workout regimen is a great deal. I would highly recommend it if you are new to working out and don’t have a high level of fitness already. The program is safe, and extremely effective at what it does – burn fat and build applicable strength. You will not be disappointed with the results you see from this regimen, especially if you follow the nutrition guide.
