Home Workout Without Equipment

Insanity

Insanity Workout

The sad truth is that lots of gyms have people believing that you need to pay hundreds of dollars per year for the privilege of being fit. I think that this is absolute lunacy, and you should too. There’s no reason that you can’t get a great home workout without equipment… Fitness is not synonymous with expensive!

Personal trainers are great, and I’ve got nothing against them, but there’s no doubt that they are some of the most overpaid people in the world. Losing weight, building muscle mass or what ever your fitness goals are, is not difficult! You can achieve what ever you want as long as you’re willing to work. And that’s really the heart of the issue, most people aren’t willing to work.

However, if you can get over the simple fact that there’s no magic button solution to losing weight (or building muscle, staying fit, whatever your goals are), then you will quickly realize that the body of your dreams is actually quite achievable. Much more so than you ever believed.

My honest recommendation for anybody who is looking for a home workout without equipment is to check out the Insanity workout program.

It is absolutely wonderful… It will get you in great physical shape, no matter where you’re at right now. The program has great built-in periodization, in other words it scales up well. As you get stronger and more fit throughout the program, there will still be a will to maintain the same level of fat burning and muscle building capability.

Furthermore, the instructor is actually quite a bit of fun workout with. Shaun T keeps you going and motivates you, unlike most of the home workout DVDs that really just don’t keep you going.

The entire Insanity workout program is 60 days in length, which is another plus for me. Most of these trainers publishing training programs don’t seem to realize that your body needs quite a bit of variation in training. The Insanity workout is a home workout without equipment. The regimen is built around a series of bodyweight circuits that are designed to give you a total body workout every single time. The best part is that if you have a 6′ x 6′ space, that’s all that you really need.

Home workout without equipment tips:

Now, there are a few important things that you really need to keep in mind when you’re doing a home workout without equipment or with equipment.

#1. Safety – You need to make sure that you never push yourself past your limits. Always stay within a safe range of motion, and if you really start to feel pain that doesn’t feel normal, then you should really take a day off. You should also probably stop your workout, or least the exercises you are doing.

Basic safety includes keeping a good posture throughout all of your workouts, and keeping a good eye on your joints and your back.

#2. Motivation/Focus – One of the things that most people struggle with with these home workouts programs is that they are hard to to stick to. A lot of people are able to find some sort of schedule in the drive part of things when it comes to going to the gym. In other words, there’s a whole routine that comes with getting your stuff together, putting your shoes on, saying goodbye to the people in your home.

It’s a routine.

With a home workout without equipment, you don’t have that. You need to make sure that you set aside time each day you’re going to work out, because otherwise will quickly find yourself losing focus. It’s a lot easier to say “Oh, well I’ll just do it later” when you don’t have to go anywhere to get your workouts in. Believe me, I’ve been there.

#3. Intensity – Now, I don’t think anybody doing the Insanity workout will have any trouble with this, if you’re doing a simple body weight-based exercise routine, or worse, a less entertaining workout program, then you may find yourself quickly losing the “fire” that drives you to get a good burn.

A good way to accomplish this is to keep track of your goals, as well as your progress. Getting a workout journal will help you to keep track of your progress, and give you that drive to keep improving. No matter what you’re doing, as a matter of fact, you should really consider keeping a workout journal because it will help your training. You will be more efficient, and that’s always a good thing.

My recommendation is to go with the Insanity workout program if you want a home workout without equipment and you’re serious about getting that “beach body”. However, whatever you’re doing I urge you to follow the guidelines that I have laid out here for how to perform a home workout under optimal conditions (meaning optimal results).
